Peruvian Government finances NGV vehicle conversions with BonoGas program

June 14, 2019. Carriers in the towns of Piura, Lambayeque and La Libertad will begin to receive the benefits of the BonoGas Vehicular program promoted by the Ministry of Energy and Mines of Peru to encourage the massification of natural gas throughout the country.

The program, which was implemented 10 months ago, has granted loans to 2,069 users in Lima, Callao, Ica and Junín, who have migrated to the use of natural gas in their vehicles through financing with an interest rate of approximately 3%, to pay up to 5 years, informed the Ministry.

The loans were granted through financial institutions in charge of evaluating whether the applicant has the conditions to access the financing, such as: owning vehicles belonging to the M1 category (maximum 8 seats), which are less than or equal to 10 years and have passed the technical inspection in a vehicle conversion workshop. Applicants to receive the BonoGas must also approve the credit evaluation conducted under the criteria of each financial institution.

To date 3 financial institutions are authorized to implement the program and are associated with 106 conversion workshops, and certification companies that are part of the massification process at the national level.
