November 13, 2021. After closing with Iveco one of the most important operations for the purchase of units powered by alternative energies on the continent, the transport company Grupo San Gabriel already has its 35 Stralis NP Cursor 13 trucks propelled with liquefied natural gas (LNG) and began its work in that country.
Grupo San Gabriel has a long history in the Chilean market and is recognized for its large fleet of trucks and semi-trailers. Located in Linares, Maule Region, the company is characterized by being a pioneer in sustainability and by reducing the environmental impact with the acquisition of 35 vehicles.
“Making an agreement of this size and then seeing the trucks traveling the routes in the region is very gratifying. It is a great satisfaction to continue growing with Iveco in South America, where we are pioneers in the use of sustainable alternatives. With this strategic alliance, we reconfirm our commitment to offer clean energy, savings in operating costs for our customers and care for the environment,” said Marcio Querichelli, President of Iveco in South America.
From San Gabriel they assure that the acquisition of their new fleet will be a differential for their clients and they highlight Iveco’s trajectory both for the autonomy and comfort of its vehicles, as well as for the sustainable technology that the new trucks will offer for your business.
The new units that will travel the Chilean routes guarantee better air quality with a 60% reduction in NOx and a 99% reduction in particles. In addition, they offer a quieter environment with 71 dB lower Piek level. These vehicles have two tanks of 540 liters each and offer a range of up to 1,600 kilometers depending on the mission of the carrier, making it the option of choice for long-distance journeys. The Stralis NP Cursor 13 to LNG will be supplied by the first service station in Chile for heavy-duty trucks that operate 100% on liquefied natural gas and which is located at Grupo San Gabriel’s facilities.
