February 4, 2025. The Iveco Eurocargo CNG has been crowned “Sustainable Truck of the Year” in the ‘Distribution’ category due to its versatile and sustainable features. The award, created in 2016 by the Italian specialist magazine Vado e Torno, is awarded annually by an independent jury of motoring journalists. The judges’ choice takes into account several factors, including sustainability, efficiency (from the point of view of reducing emissions) and driver safety and comfort.
The jury commented on the award: “The Eurocargo has been a benchmark in truck history for the past three decades, maintaining its attractiveness and competitiveness without ever changing its basic approach and philosophy. Even in its latest version, it continues to represent above all the versatility that has allowed it to take on and fulfil a wide range of roles, while displaying an even more elegant style and expanding its range of performances.”
The new Eurocargo is the most advanced version of this long-standing line ever produced: a redesigned digital cockpit, digital services driven by advanced connectivity and even greater sustainability due to the extended CNG range make the Eurocargo the truck everyone wants to drive.
This variant is equipped with a new generation of Tector 7 CNG engines, available across the line: the only vehicle in the 12 to 18 tonne range to offer natural gas for operators looking for emission-reducing solutions. The 6.7-litre CNG engine is available in three versions: 220 HP, 250 HP and 280 HP. In addition to increased capacity and power, the Eurocargo also offers best-in-class fuel consumption, along with a reduction in CO2 emissions of up to 10%. This means that it is also a valuable partner in the pursuit of environmental and social sustainability, acting as a perfect ambassador for the circular economy due to the use of biomethane.
