Kamaz presents CNG articulated urban bus at SPbTransportFest

The CNG extra-large class Kamaz-6299-40-5T is designed to meet modern requirements for passenger comfort and safety and meets the requirements of an accessible environment.

May 19, 2023. Kamaz is taking part in the IV International Festival SPbTransportFest held in St. Petersburg on May 18-20. In its exposition, the company presents a Kamaz-6299 urban articulated compressed natural gas (CNG) powered bus.

The CNG extra-large class Kamaz-6299-40-5T is designed to meet modern requirements for passenger comfort and safety and meets the requirements of an accessible environment. The bus is equipped with a 320 hp natural gas engine and an automatic transmission. The total passenger capacity is 155 people and seating capacity is 44.

The Kamaz-6299-40-5T city low-floor bus has a flat floor in the cab, a wide standing area near the second door, is equipped with handrails with signal buttons for the driver to open the doors and USB chargers for gadgets. The bus is equipped with a kneeling system and is able to lower to the stopping platform, which facilitates the boarding of passengers. Independent front suspension ensures smooth running. A climate control system is installed for the passengers’ comfort.

The driver’s workplace is equipped with a combination of devices with a liquid crystal display, which displays all the necessary information: current speed, total distance traveled, average fuel consumption, etc. The bus is equipped with a set of video cameras, the image from which is also displayed on the touch screen mounted on the dashboard.

It should be noted that buses of particularly large capacity are especially relevant for St. Petersburg. These models are widely used to solve issues of transport provision for citizens and guests of the Northern capital.
