Myriad Gardens receives donation from Oklahoma Natural Gas for a CNG truck

Myriad Gardens Foundation received $19,000 from U.S. Oklahoma Natural Gas to purchase a compressed natural gas cargo van.

July 29, 2024. Myriad Gardens Foundation received $19,000 from U.S. Oklahoma Natural Gas to purchase a compressed natural gas (CNG) cargo van to support its green initiatives.

The van will transport soil, mulch, shrubs, trees, lumber and other essential items for the Horticulture and Facility departments.

“We are so thankful for this partnership with Oklahoma Natural Gas,” said Maureen Heffernan, CEO of Myriad Gardens Foundation and Scissortail Park Foundation. “This donation is extremely helpful in supporting our operational needs. We look forward to transporting thousands of plants in this van to maintain the Gardens as a beautiful and popular attraction.”

The funds were provided by the ONE Gas Foundation, the utility’s parent company, which supports communities across its operating areas.

“Natural gas is essential for a sustainable future, so helping Myriad Gardens purchase a CNG vehicle to enhance sustainability made sense,” said David Williams, Vice President of Operations for Oklahoma Natural Gas. “Myriad Gardens is a treasure in Oklahoma City, and we’re proud to support its future.”
