Nearly 2 million families enjoy natural gas and 90.000 vehicles have been converted to CNG in Peru

To date there are close to 90.000 vehicle conversions carried out; allowing thousands of drivers in Lima, Callao, Piura, Lambayeque, La Libertad, Ancash, Junín, Ica and Cusco to have the option of accessing cheaper and cleaner fuel.

June 13, 2023. The Ministry of Energy and Mines of Peru announced that, at the national level, there is already an accumulated number of 1.934.612 residential users of natural gas in the regions of Lima and Callao, Ica, Arequipa, Moquegua, Tacna, Áncash, Cajamarca, La Libertad, Lambayeque and Piura, which enjoy the benefits of a cleaner, cheaper and health-friendly fuel.

The MINEM indicated that, of the total accumulated users, the BonoGas Program of the Social Energy Inclusion Fund (FISE), has financed the installation of 1.225.994 natural gas supplies, among which are homes, soup kitchens, common pots, hostels, schools, companies, among others; allowing to contribute to the economic transformation of the country.

In addition to this, the budget of 200 million soles transferred to the FISE NGV Savings program is being executed, with the purpose of promoting the conversion of 100.000 vehicles that consume liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) to compressed natural gas (CNG).

To date there are close to 90.000 vehicle conversions carried out; allowing thousands of drivers in Lima, Callao, Piura, Lambayeque, La Libertad, Ancash, Junín, Ica and Cusco to have the option of accessing cheaper and cleaner fuel.
