New natural gas buses for Toulouse Métropole

The Joint Union of Public Transport of the metropolitan area of Toulouse, France, validated the acquisition of new natural gas buses in early February.

February 16, 2024. Committed since 2015 to the development of natural gas for vehicles (NGV) within the Tisséo network fleet, the Joint Union of Public Transport of the metropolitan area of Toulouse, France, validated the acquisition of new natural gas buses in early February.

In this way, Tisséo Collectivités continues its policy of renewing the bus fleet in favor of models that run on natural gas or electricity. In this context, the Joint Transport Union of the Toulouse metropolitan area has approved the use of the Public Transport Purchasing Center (CATP) for the acquisition of new units in 2024.

Regarding natural gas vehicles, the orders refer to 12 NGV articulated buses or NGV mild hybrids for a budget of 5.4 million euros without taxes. These will support the new needs of Linéo, which plans to launch two new lines in 2025 and at the same time strengthen some current lines. Added to this will be the acquisition of 5 “standard” electric buses (12 meters) for an amount of 3 million euros without taxes.
