Quavii opens first CNG filling station in Sullana

It is the first gas station in the Piura region connected to the natural gas pipeline network, with the capacity to serve more than 1,000 vehicles daily.

October 29, 2025. Drivers in Sullana, Peru, now have their first compressed natural gas (CNG) station, which will allow them to access the benefits of an energy alternative that can generate savings of nearly 50% compared to other fuels, such as diesel. In addition to being more affordable, CNG is a cleaner fuel that generates fewer CO2 emissions, contributing to improved air quality.

The new facility, located at the San José Gas Station in Sullana (Block A, Sublot 3A – Industrial Zone IV, on the Pan-American Highway), is the first in the city. Its opening also represents a milestone as it is the first station to connect directly to the natural gas pipeline network of Quavii, a Promigas company in Peru, ensuring a continuous and reliable supply.

“Each new station connected to the pipeline network accelerates the decision of transporters to migrate to cleaner and more economical energy, with a guaranteed natural gas supply. Furthermore, we are consolidating a network of our own and partner stations that serve the entire northern region of the country,” stated Miguel Maal, General Manager of Promigas Peru.

With this new station, CNG customers in Sullana will have, for the first time, a local, safe, and efficient refueling point. This is further supported by four authorized conversion workshops in the Piura region, guaranteeing reliable operation for the more than 17,000 light vehicles and 1,500 cargo vehicles that already use natural gas in northern Peru.
