November 4, 2026. ReFuels N.V., one of Europe’s leading suppliers of renewable biomethane (Bio-CNG) for decarbonizing heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), has opened a new public-access refueling station strategically located near the M4 motorway at Magor, South Wales.
Owned and operated by CNG Fuels, the new station provides convenient access to one of the UK’s most important freight corridors connecting London, South Wales and the Midlands. The site is also close to the Port of Newport, two international airports and distribution centres operated by major logistics users, including Tesco and AB InBev.
“The Magor station strengthens CNG Fuels’ network along an important UK freight corridor, giving fleet operators greater access to a lower-cost, lower-carbon and regionally produced alternative to imported diesel. Fleets will only transition at scale if the infrastructure is there, and our continued network expansion is making that switch increasingly straightforward,” said Philip Fjeld, CEO and co-founder of ReFuels.
“In the first half of 2027, Magor will be complemented by a new station at Swindon, enabling seamless transport between London and southern parts of the Midlands and Wales as we expand capacity to support a growing number of operators transitioning their fleets to renewable biomethane.”
The Magor station can refuel 12 trucks simultaneously at full utilization, enabling more than 800 trucks to be refueled per day and the dispensing of more than 30 million kilograms of Bio-CNG annually.
With Magor, CNG Fuels operates 17 public-access Bio-CNG stations across the UK, with capacity to refuel more than 12,000 HGVs per day. The company is continuing its demand-led rollout of high-capacity stations and mobile refueling solutions, targeting network capacity for more than 20,000 HGVs per day by the end of 2028.
