November 8, 2024. The Mayor of Valladolid, Jesús Julio Carnero, announced during the presentation of the GloVall Project that “the City Council has started the administrative procedures to incorporate Autobuses Urbanos de Valladolid S.A. (AUVASA) in the next month a budget item of 2,165,000 euros, in order to acquire 5 18-meter articulated buses, which will have the latest passenger information technology and safety systems in driving assistance.”
These are Solaris units powered by compressed natural gas (CNG). With this acquisition, AUVASA will have 20 articulated buses of this brand, with capacity for 135 passengers each, thus increasing the transport capacity per individual bus by 50%.
With this addition, the number of vehicles with ZERO emissions or ECO environmental labels increases to 84 units, reaching 55% of the AUVASA fleet. Based on the supplier’s delivery procedures, they will be able to be in service in the last quarter of next year.
This renewal will allow the average age of the fleet to be maintained at 9.7 years and the average nominal age of the vehicles that normally provide service on ordinary lines at 4.5 years, once they are put into service in 2025.
