March 20, 2023. Iveco makes the premiere in Chile of the version powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) of its S-Way truck, flagship model of the heavy range of the Italian manufacturer that is currently represented and distributed by Andes Motor. With this arrival, it will increase the fleet of 15 trucks operated by Transportes San Gabriel, a pioneer company in Latin America in the use of this type of vehicle.

On the occasion of his visit to the country, the Commercial Director of Iveco for Latin America, Reinaldo Rossoni, highlighted that this environmentally sustainable alternative reduces the emission of particulate gas and carbon dioxide (CO2) by up to 95% by being used with biomethane. The executive added that the reliability of the LNG technology is fully validated by the European company, “Customers can be sure that they are acquiring a high performance product. In addition, they will have all the after-sales assistance from Iveco and Andes Motor”.

This gas-powered truck is designed for long-distance transport, with a range of up to 1,600 kilometers and state-of-the-art tanks for a maximum of 1,080 liters. In addition, it integrates a silent mode, with which it only emits 71 decibels (dB), according to the Piek Quiet Truck test.

Likewise, the version incorporates intelligent auxiliary elements such as the compressor with clutch, the variable displacement steering pump and the “eco” function of the automatic air conditioning system. Inside, it has a better capacity on its upper shelves, USB radio with bluetooth, multifunction steering wheel and led lighting.

The 460 LNG variant comes with 4×2 traction, a 12.9-liter Cursor 13 engine that delivers a power of 460 HP and a torque of 2,000 Nm between 1,100 and 1,620 rpm.
