October 11, 2023. The Social Energy Inclusion Fund (FISE) has surpassed the financing of more than 100 thousand conversions to natural gas vehicles (NGV), through its NGV Savings programs, which operate in 9 regions of the country: Lima, Ica, Callao, La Libertad, Cusco, Piura, Junín, Lambayeque and Ancash.
It should be noted that the NGV Savings program began operations in 2021 aimed at promoting the widespread use of natural gas by granting financing without interest or initial fee up to a maximum of S/4,000 soles, an amount that is returned within a period of years through NGV refills at service stations.
Gasoline or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) vehicles that are converted to natural gas are installed with complete 5th generation or higher conversion equipment. This financing allows the conversion to NGV of light vehicles that use gasoline or LPG and that are normally dedicated to taxi service, private use, school mobility, transportation of merchandise, among others.
LPG vehicles that are converted to natural gas through the program receive a discount bonus of S/2,000 on the financed amount, the only condition to receive this bonus being that the vehicle owner leaves his LPG system at the conversion workshop.
Natural persons who own gasoline vehicles and who live in regions in the interior of the country and where there are NGV service stations have access to a discount voucher of S/1,000 on the financed amount.
The workshops that participate in the program are authorized by the Ministry of Transportation and Communications to carry out conversions to natural gas, the converted vehicles are inspected by a certifying entity that verifies that the conversion has been carried out in accordance with current regulations, which ensures that the conversions financed are of good quality and safe.
