October 30, 2023. With the purpose of adding actions to reduce its carbon footprint, Surtigas acquired, through the company Renting Colombia, a fleet of 36 Hyundai Tucson 0 KM vehicles with the compressed natural gas (CNG) system installed.
With this acquisition, Surtigas continues to add actions to improve air quality by reducing CO2 emissions into the environment, reduces its carbon footprint and also generates savings of more than 52% for the company in fuel.
The equipment installed in these trucks is 5th generation technology, sequential CNG injection, designed for application in vehicles with electronic fuel injection, where the mixture of air and fuel is carried out through computerized calculations, which generates a more homogeneous mixture and a more complete combustion, resulting in a decrease in CO and CO2, also allowing better mechanical performance of the engine (power and torque) and also optimizing fuel performance.
