July 1, 2020. EGO, the transport company of the metropolitan municipality of Ankara, Turkey, will buy 250 compressed natural gas (CNG) buses for more environmentally friendly public transport.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development announced that Ankara will grant the transport company EGO a loan of 45 million euros for the purchase of 250 CNG-powered units. With the loan, two natural gas filling facilities will also be established and 30 diesel and Euro 6 buses will be purchased.
EGO will use the new buses to replace the 15-year-old vehicles with the Euro 2 emissions standard.
