March 2, 2024. Celebrating the 39th anniversary of the city of El Alto, the President of Bolivia, Luis Arce, and the Minister of Hydrocarbons and Energy, Franklin Molina Ortiz, delivered the first vehicles converted to compressed natural gas (CNG) of the Central of Productive and Entrepreneurial Women of El Alto (CEMUPE).
This project provides for the conversion of 525 CEMUPE units to CNG, completely free of charge, and with sequential injection kits, a technology that, through computer software, allows the exact amount of gas to be injected, according to the engine requirement.
These transformations seek to reduce the operating costs of the women of CEMUPE, since CNG is an economical and safe fuel that allows savings of up to 60% compared to gasoline.
Thus, the Executing Entity for Conversion to Natural Gas Vehicles (EEC-GNV) allocates an investment of approximately Bs. 3,150,000.00 for the benefit of the families of El Alto women and contributes to the change of the energy matrix.
