Acquisition of two new Bio-CNG hybrid buses in France

The Urban Community of Niort continues the renewal of its bus fleet in France.

September 26, 2025. As part of the energy transition and the implementation of the Territorial Plan for Climate, Air, and Energy (PCAET), the Urban Community of Niort continues the renewal of its bus fleet in France.

Two new Urbanway buses powered by Bio-CNG with hybrid technology will be acquired through the Union of Public Procurement Groups (UGAP) for €754,000 (VAT not included). These vehicles will improve passenger capacity, user comfort, and accessibility, while complying with current environmental regulations.

Niort Agglo has already acquired six electric vehicles and 13 Bio-CNG hybrid buses, including two articulated buses currently in operation. By the end of 2025 and continuing through 2026, with ongoing acquisitions, 10 new units will be phased out of the diesel fleet: 7 Bio-CNG mild hybrids, 2 electric shuttles, and 1 electric bus.

By the end of 2026, out of a fleet of 56 vehicles, Niort Agglo will have 27 units phased out of diesel.
