All waste collection trucks will work with CNG in Burgos

The new contract of the Spanish City Council of Burgos will also update the fleet of vehicles used for cleaning, renewing the current ones that are already municipal property.

April 26, 2022. The new contract of the Spanish City Council of Burgos will also update the fleet of vehicles used for cleaning, renewing the current ones that are already municipal property.

Thus, as explained by the Councilor for the Environment, Josué Temiño, 100% of the truck fleet for waste collection, whether organic or differentiated, will run on compressed natural gas (CNG).

In addition, the rest of the vehicles in the service area, as well as the machinery for street cleaning, will also have a high share of low emissions. Under the new contract, at least 65% of these units will be electric or run on CNG, in an attempt to reduce CO2 emissions.

Of course, to see the new trucks they will have to wait a while, it will not be as immediate as the replacement of the containers. At the moment, that specific machinery that is needed to cover some of the new functions.
