July 13, 2023. The Spanish Confederation of Service Station Employers (CEEES) and the Spanish Gas Association (Sedigas) have signed a collaboration agreement in Madrid by virtue of which both organizations will cooperate with the aim of carrying out actions of promotion and awareness related to the decarbonization of mobility through the use of renewable gases, biomethane and renewable hydrogen.
The agreement, signed by Jorge de Benito and Joan Batalla, Presidents of CEEES and Sedigas, respectively, also contemplates collaborating in the dissemination of technology and the best regulatory examples related to the energy transition and the use of new fuels for mobility.
Within the framework of this collaboration, both organizations will work together in the organization of conferences, workshops and development of publications to disseminate knowledge about renewable gases.
The first fruit of this collaboration is the adhesion of the CEEES to the Alliance for Biomethane, a movement founded by Sedigas to promote this renewable and indigenous resource to which a dozen national business organizations from the energy, industry and Spanish agricultural and livestock sectors have already joined.
“Many of the filling stations grouped under the CEEES umbrella already dispense natural gas for vehicles, either liquefied or compressed, and will be able to supply biomethane very soon, thus contributing to the decarbonization of mobility”, Jorge de Benito stated after signing the collaboration agreement with Sedigas.
