January 21, 2023. The first liquefied natural gas (LNG) station will meet the demand for heavy-duty vehicles, which are already sold in Peru through five imported truck tractor brands.

Cálidda, in its role as a pioneer company in the distribution of natural gas service, inaugurated the first LNG facility in the country together with the company Grifos Espinoza (GESA).

The filling station will operate under the name of Cálidda Energía, a Cálidda subsidiary focused on the development of new businesses related to comprehensive energy solutions.

The LNG facility is located at kilometer 27.5 of the Panamericana Norte highway in the district of Puente Piedra, and its construction included an investment of 1 million dollars.

The recent inauguration marks a milestone in the history of LNG for vehicles since it is the first in Peru -and the first in South America for the public- that joins other clean fuel alternatives, such as compressed natural gas (CNG), which it already supplies 7,000 heavy transport units in Lima.

The new station will meet an important expectation and demand from business operators of taps and transport fleets that will benefit from the efficiency, autonomy and savings offered by the use of this energy, which allows them to travel up to an average of 1,600 km, contributing to progress towards sustainable mobility in the country.
