November 26, 2022. The first private natural gas vehicles (NGV) filling station was inaugurated at the facilities of Peru Bus Internacional S.A (Grupo Polo), operator of the Yellow Corridor concession.

This first private supply facility, located in San Martín de Porres, is also a new NGV distribution model, which will bring great benefits to formal carriers, users and the environment. Thanks to this work, the 74 buses of the Yellow Corridor will be supplied, a service that benefits more than 21,000 passengers per day.

With the inauguration, which was possible thanks to an investment of US$1 million by Cálidda, a new history based on efficiency began to be written. “Having a NGV refueling station has many internal benefits, since the operation of the fleet is improved and downtime is avoided when traveling several kilometers with empty buses, just to reach the nearest pump”, says Polo Pérez Orihuela, President of the Grupo Polo. He adds that, from now on, the calculation of the fleet’s monthly savings will be 56 thousand soles.

In addition to the economic benefits, the supply and stability of the NGV price are guaranteed, since Peru has abundant natural gas reserves and its importation is not necessary.
