November 15, 2020. Grupo Arcese has recently added 20 Iveco S-WAY NP liquefied natural gas (LNG) to its fleet at the company’s new facilities in Basiano, Italy. The new vehicles are equipped with 460 hp Cursor 13 engines, 12-speed Hi-Tronix gearboxes, predictive GPS and two 440-liter LNG tanks on each side.
The S-WAY NPs are configured to work with biomethane, “which makes them a perfect example of a circular economy with a 95% reduction in CO2 compared to their diesel equivalents,” explained Iveco, whose managers also highlight that when circulating in silent mode the new units have a noise level of 71 dB, which paves the way for urban night operation.
The new trucks have the Connectivity Box, which “keeps the vehicle connected to the Iveco Control Room specialists, who monitor the vehicle at all times”. They also have the Ecofleet, Driving Style Evaluation (DSE) and Driver Attention Support (DAS) systems, which “further contribute to reducing the total cost of ownership”, according to the manufacturer.
“We want to thank the Arcese Group for placing its trust in our Iveco brand once again. We are honored to be part of the sustainable growth of its fleet, with a cutting-edge vehicle where technology, services and sustainability work together perfectly to respect the environment”, Thomas Hilse, President of the Iveco brand, stated at the delivery ceremony for the new units.
