November 17, 2023. HAM Group and HAM Transport have acquired 50 new Volvo trucks powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG). This is the Volvo FH model with 460 HP and 500 HP with the latest driving aid safety elements, of which it has received 25 and expects to receive the rest during the next year.

Transportes HAM, the first European company to opt for LNG as a vehicle fuel, is a leader in the road transport sector for cryogenic and flammable products, offering a service based on the highest demands and guaranteeing the highest level of efficiency and safety.

Its fleet complies with all regulations and is continually renewed, with safer and more efficient vehicles, driven by professionals who take annual driving courses that help them reduce accidents, high consumption and emissions. In response to this company policy, Grupo HAM and Transportes HAM have acquired these 50 Volvo Trucks units, since their performance, innovation and quality are aligned with the group’s values and objectives.

Víctor Banderas, Director of Transport and Safety of Grupo HAM, has stated that: “At Grupo HAM and Transportes HAM we have been committed to sustainable mobility for more than 30 years, with a large fleet of LNG vehicles, a real, safe and clean alternative. that mitigates the greenhouse effect on the environment, reducing polluting emissions compared to fossil fuels. Liquefied natural gas reduces CO2 emissions by 15%, nitrous oxides by 35% and fine particles by 95%; leading to higher air quality.”

For Daniel Saiz, Commercial and Marketing Director of Volvo Trucks Spain: “The agreement for these 50 LNG trucks to HAM reflects our continued commitment to Volvo’s commitment to sustainable transport solutions, in addition to satisfying the needs of our customers. “We are confident that these units will generate an extremely positive impact on the operational efficiency and profitability of both companies.”

These LNG-powered trucks offer the same performance and drivability as their diesel models. They can be used in regional and long-haul heavy transport operations. With the new 225 Kg tank and the new 500 HP engine, autonomy is increased by between 10%-14%.
