Inauguration of the 50th biogas station in the Pays de la Loire region

This bold move, driven by the Brangeon Group, BPFM Transport, and AVIA-Picoty, came well before regulations became mandatory for the sector.

June 20, 2026. A significant moment took place on June 11, 2026, at the AVIA Cormier station in Cholet: its inauguration as the 50th refueling station connected to the biogas distribution network in the Pays de la Loire region. In front of nearly 80 participants—partners, elected officials, institutional representatives, and industry stakeholders—the company, together with AVIA-Picoty and Transports BPFM, opened a new chapter in sustainable mobility in western France.

It all began in 2018, when the Cormier facility became the first liquefied natural gas (LNG) refueling station in the Pays de la Loire region. This bold move, driven by the Brangeon Group, BPFM Transport, and AVIA-Picoty, came well before regulations became mandatory for the sector.

According to Vincent Brangeon: “We didn’t wait for regulatory requirements to be met. We invested because we were convinced that transportation needed a change, and that this change had to start at the local level.”

Connected to the gas network operated by GRDF, the facility now distributes compressed biogas (Bio-CNG), produced by methanizing organic waste: agricultural waste, livestock effluents, and local refuse. It also includes fast-charging stations for electric vehicles, accessible to all types of vehicles, including trucks.

This refueling station is designed as the multi-energy station of the future, open to both professionals (transport companies, manufacturers, and logistics companies) and individuals traveling through the region, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The project is financed entirely with private capital, in collaboration with AVIA-Picoty and Transports BPFM, with support from the GRDF network.
