February 25, 2024. Iveco delivers seven S-Way CNG to Mantova Ambiente, which enriches its fleet with seven new rear-loading compactors with low environmental impact. The delivery ceremony took place within the framework of the Palazzo Te in Mantua, in the presence of Oreste Debiasi, Vehicle Fleet Director of Mantova Ambiente, and Diego Moreschi, Commercial Director of Medium and Heavy Range of the Iveco Officine Brennero dealership.
The S-Ways, in models AD 190S34/P and AD260 S34/P, will be used for selective waste collection and run on compressed natural gas (CNG), compatible with biomethane. In addition, the compaction equipment has a container volume that varies between 18 and 25 cubic meters and the configuration of the vehicles has been designed to better carry out the activity, and the innovative advanced safe driving systems ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) are present as standard on the trucks, also highlighting the specific solutions adopted, such as, for example, the Allison automatic transmission with integrated hydraulic retarder and vertical smoke evacuation.
The Iveco S-Way CNG offers transporters the competitive advantages of a green and profitable solution with the best total operating cost in the category. In addition, thanks to the use of biomethane, a perfect circular economy cycle is achieved in collection activities of waste, for the well-being of people and the environment.
Mantova Ambiente, a company of the Tea di Mantua group, is responsible for waste collection, soil cleaning, public green areas and the management of treatment and disposal plants in the 48 municipalities served. Each material collected is recovered and sent to the most appropriate recovery plant to minimize the fraction destined for landfill. Specifically, Mantova Ambiente delivers most of the organic waste collected to the new treatment and recovery plant present in the Tea Group of which it is a part and from which biomethane is produced, thus constituting a perfect example of circular economy with the self-production of green fuel to power the vehicles in its fleet.
