New biomethane bus station in Villiers-le-Bel

A total of €5.7 billion will be invested by 2029 in infrastructure conversion and the renewal of the entire fleet of these vehicles in Île-de-France.

May 28, 2026. Since 2016, Île-de-France Mobilités has invested heavily to ensure the energy transition of its buses and coaches across its Île-de-France network. A total of €5.7 billion will be invested by 2029 in infrastructure conversion and the renewal of the entire fleet of these vehicles in Île-de-France.

As part of this acceleration strategy, the new bus station in Villiers-le-Bel, powered by biomethane and operated by RATP Cap Île-de-France since May 1, 2026, was inaugurated. Its construction, carried out by RATP between 2024 and 2026, represents a total investment of nearly €26.3 million, fully funded by Île-de-France Mobilités.

The new biomethane-powered bus operations center is now operational in the Villiers-le-Bel and Plaine Saint-Denis area. This infrastructure is one of 65 stations already converted to clean energy (53 of which use biomethane) out of the 120 that make up the Île-de-France Mobilités network, representing an investment to date of nearly €1.2 billion (including conversion to electric power).

Its strategic location will allow the operation of 100 buses (70 standard and 30 articulated), which will eventually run on 7 lines in northern Val d’Oise and Seine-Saint-Denis. Located in the Tissonviliers III business park, the Villiers-le-Bel station covers more than 1.7 hectares. It was designed according to High Environmental Quality (HQE) standards and includes, among other features, a green roof, solar panels, and a heat pump.
