April 29, 2021. Following the cancellation of the Tour of Romandie in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Swiss cycling competition is back again. Organized from April 27 to May 2, this year it will have ten compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles from the SEAT range, which will be used to transport VIP guests and for other trips.
Nicolas Hobi, SEAT Marketing Director, is delighted with the deployment of the natural gas/biogas fleet as part of the Tour: “When the organizers asked us to support them, we didn’t think much. Equipped with advanced technologies and comfortable thanks to the CNG engine, our vehicles constitute a more ecological and economical mobility solution for the Tour of Romandie”.
The Gazenergie association is on board for the first time. “When we sponsor an event, we not only want our name to appear on the poster, but also offer real added value to the organization,” says André Räss, Marketing and Communication Director of the entity, when explaining the commitment to the Tour de Romandie. “We are delighted to take advantage of the support of SEAT and its dealer network this year to improve the carbon footprint of the competition, as we will offset every kilometer traveled with Swiss biogas.”
