January 30, 2021. With more than 70 agencies in France and as a signatory of the “CO2 Target” initiative since 2010, the transport and logistics company Heppner has chosen natural gas to reduce the environmental impact of its vehicles. As part of a € 15 million investment plan, the company is committed to converting 50% of its fleet to natural gas by 2025.
Beyond vehicle deployment, Heppner has also chosen to equip itself with its own filling stations. It is a way of adapting to the absence of refueling facilities for this fuel in certain areas of the territory.
Starting in March 2021, the company will inaugurate a first service station within its Le Mans branch. “Future locations are being studied to intertwine the territory more finely,” the Heppner’s statement said.
“Now we are accelerating our energy transition by structuring all the initiatives that we have been carrying out for several years and involving our entire ecosystem in our approach. We are investing in this way to meet the new demands of our clients and of society in general. I am convinced that the most successful companies of the future will also be the most responsible,” explains Jean-Thomas Schmitt, CEO of Heppner.
