Six Scania Citywide CNG buses for ČSAD Havířov

December 23, 2020. Another 6 new Scania buses powered by compressed natural gas (CNG) will run on the routes of ČSAD Havířov in the Czech Republic.

The proven Citywide LE model is 14.8 meters long, has a capacity of 100 passengers and there is also room for a wheelchair or stroller. Scania vehicles are very popular in the 3ČSAD transport group belonging to Transdev. The North Moravian airline already has more than 40 of them in its fleet.

“The units of the Swedish brand are popular for their reliability and low consumption,” says Lukáš Martinů, Scania’s Bus Sales Manager, who added that “this particular version of the Citywide LE compressed gas model excels, among other things, in its long range, which can be up to 650 kilometers.”

All thanks to Scania’s proven drive chain. The bus is powered by a nine-liter five-cylinder engine with an output of 240 kW. The Opticruise automatic transmission takes care of smooth 12-speed shifting.

Thus, it contributes to easy operation for drivers, and passengers will appreciate the driving comfort. Scania Citywide LE buses are also equipped with USB charging ports for passengers, WiFi connection, a modern information and registration system in accordance with the standards of the Moravian-Silesian region, as well as air conditioning for the entire vehicle.
